Can my pet travel with me?

You can safely take your pet with you. Your little four-legged friend is always welcome on the ferries! However, your pet must have a valid pet passport.

Today's modern ferries are equipped in such a way that you can travel safely and comfortably with your pet. It is important to follow the instructions for animals on board and remember that your four-legged friend must also have a ticket.

Passengers must indicate when checking in at the port or during embarkation whether they will be accompanied by an animal during the ferry crossing.

Should I book my ferry tickets in advance?

It is recommended to book your ferry ticket in advance. You don't want anything to go wrong and ruin your vacation due to negligence or delay. In addition to plane tickets and hotel accommodation, it's also important to secure your ferry tickets so you know everything is under control before you leave.

There are many reasons why you should book your ferry ticket in advance. Here are some of the most important ones:

  • Hotel bookings: During high season in Greece and other popular European destinations, and especially during peak seasons (July, August, Easter, Christmas, Holy Spirit, etc.) it is likely that you will not be able to find ferry tickets if you have not booked in advance. So don't make the mistake of booking a hotel stay without reserving your ferry ticket. The last thing you want is to get to the port and not find any available tickets for your destination!
  • Save time: Although we charge a commission for selling ferry tickets, this not only helps you secure your tickets, but also saves you time. You will also receive first-class service and attention
  • Wider choice of fares & onboard accommodation options: Buying ferry tickets in advance gives you more departure options, a wider choice of ships and all the onboard accommodation options you want. There is no point in interrupting your vacation or not traveling as desired because you haven't found available ferry tickets. This has happened to many travelers!
  • Make the perfect connection: If you want to organize your vacation properly, it is advisable to check all available ferry schedules to find the right combination between air travel and ferry trips. If you follow the right combinations, you will save money and time!
  • Get the best deal: Ferry tickets become expensive when booked a few days before each departure. Therefore, it goes without saying that you want to take advantage of the best deal. It is common for operators to announce special fares and deep discounts when tickets are booked at least 3 to 6 months in advance. Don't miss out on these offers!
  • A great feeling to have the ferry tickets in your pocket: You will have a great feeling when you hold the tickets in your hands. By making a reservation at go-ferry.com, you can secure your tickets for your destination. You will be relieved to have the confirmation in your hands or on your smartphone!

You can book your ferry tickets online and in advance through go-ferry.com. Please, click on "Why should I book my ferry tickets online?" in order to see the benefits.

What are my check-in options?

Your check-in options are the following two:

Web check-in: With the web check-in, you receive your boarding tickets in digital form. Usually, you can check-in online directly after the booking completion. In some cases, the web check-in is available forty-eight (48) hours before each departure. It is worth knowing that, you can complete your web check-in easily by accessing your booking confirmation or My Booking. It is essential to ensure that you check-in timely and obtain your electronic boarding pass. Having the electronic boarding pass, there is no need to check-in at the local port office. You are ready for boarding.

Port office check-in: With the port office check-in, you receive your boarding tickets in paper form. You can check-in at the local port offices approx. 1 to 3 hours before each scheduled departure. Passengers are reminded to check-in on time and obtain their physical boarding pass before boarding the ferry. Please be advised that for international routes, check-in closes approximately forty-five (45) minutes prior to departure, while for domestic routes, check-in closes approximately thirty (30) minutes before departure.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the check-in and/or boarding point well in advance of their scheduled departure time. For international routes, it is recommended to present oneself at least two (2) hours before the passage, while for domestic routes, one (1) hour prior to departure is sufficient. This will allow ample time for security checks, baggage drop-off, and other formalities.

It is important to note that if a passenger fails to arrive within the recommended time frame, the carrier reserves the right to cancel the reservation without any refund of fare. This policy is in place to ensure that passages depart on time and to minimize delays for other passengers.

Please, refer to "Where is the port office to collect my boarding ticket?" or ''How early must I arrive at the port for check-in and boarding (check-in and boarding times)?'' for more information.

Which are the accommodation options offered on the ferry?

Passengers can choose between:

Economy deck seats: Deck seats on ferries can be occupied freely, providing passengers with a range of seating options. The interior space of conventional vessels features comfortable chairs, armchairs and sofas with tables near bars and cafeterias. On the outdoor deck, plastic chairs and benches with tables are available, but may not be suitable for longer journeys. High-speed and flying dolphins offer numbered deck seats that are comparable to airline seats, but more spacious. On the economy deck, passengers can store their luggage in racks located in various areas of the ferry. It is important to note that luggage may not be situated near the passenger's chosen seat, according to the ferry.

Air type seats (ATS): These seats offer more leg space and roominess compared to standard deck seats. Passengers with air-type tickets are assigned a specific seat number during the check-in process. These seats are typically located in separate lounges on board, which are comfortable and quiet, allowing passengers to rest during their voyage. The lounges also have designated racks for passengers to store their luggage near their seats and the entrance of the lounge. These private lounges can be compared to the first-class compartment in a train, providing a premium experience for passengers.

Business class seats (VIP): Business class seats on ships are designed to provide maximum comfort and convenience to passengers who have purchased business class tickets. These seats are located in a separate section of the ship and offer larger seat spaces, allowing for a more relaxed and comfortable journey. In addition to the spacious seating arrangements, business class passengers also have access to cafeterias, bars, and luggage storage facilities. This means that they can enjoy a variety of refreshments and snacks during their journey, and have a safe and secure place to store their belongings.

Cabins: Cabins are available for passengers who want to travel in comfort at a slightly higher price. Depending on the carrier, you can choose from a range of cabins that accommodate between one to six passengers. If you don't mind sharing, you can opt for a cabin with someone of the same sex. All cabins come equipped with fresh linen and towels. In addition, most cabins provide a private bathroom (it will be displayed during the booking procedure) and ample space to unwind. You can also choose between an outside cabin with a view of the sea or an inside cabin that's better suited for those who are prone to seasickness (inside cabins are situated in the center of the ship). Smoking is prohibited in all cabins.

Pure Cabins: These cabins have all the typical characteristics of a cabin, such as a bed and a bathroom but they also include an ionizer to improve the air quality in the room. This feature may be particularly appealing to individuals with allergies or respiratory issues.

Pet Cabins: These cabins are designed to cater to the needs of pet owners and their furry friends. Typically, pet cabins do not have carpets, which makes cleaning easier and reduces the risk of allergies for both the pets and their owners.

Shared Cabins: A great way to save money while traveling. It allows passengers of the same sex to split the cost of the cabin and enjoy the same amenities as those who have booked a private cabin.

Lux Cabins: Luxury cabins are the perfect choice for those seeking the most comfortable and spacious accommodation on their journey. These cabins are usually situated in the front area of the ship, offering magnificent views of the sea.
